Everything is both cyclical and constant, revolving in an infinite cycle of energy, or Chi (Qi). The basic philosophy of Yin and Yang is that everything in the universe exists in opposition. The creation of life and the sorrow of death The hours of health and those of sickness In all the scripts of weddings past, we see examples of the two halves of the cycle. Marriage is the joining of the yin & the yang. Each exists in the other and each needs the other to exist. And within all yang there is a bit of yin. For within each half, there is a small circle of the opposite color, a small circle which shows that nothing is absolute. Not only do the light and dark require the equal presence of the other for balance, they cannot exist without the other. The yin-yang is very much like a marriage. This is the masculine, the light, the turmoil, the dominance. The white area in the symbol is the Yang. This is the the feminine, the dark, the stillness, The yin-yang is a special symbol for the bride & groom. One force dominates and then it is replaced by the opposing force. Every moment has led up to this one, every second has added to the yin & yang which makes up their life together.Īccording to yin-yang philosophy, the universe and everything in it is both constant and an ongoing cycle. In those eleven years, the bride & groom have gone through a lot, and every obstacle has eventually brought them closer to each other. Eleven years, for the perfect moment to formally & legally bind their lives together. Tony & Gwendolynn have waited for eleven years for this day.
